QUOTES
Mark R. Wadsley's quotes with meanings attached.
ALWAYS STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN.
This is something I live by on a day-to-day basis.
I really believe if more people stood up for what they believe in, the world would be a much better place. There, of course, is a difference between doing this in the right way or the wrong way, but using your voice to try and make positive change isn't a bad thing.
DO IT FOR YOUR BLOODLINE.
Another one that I live by day to day.
I made a promise to my Nana that I would create a foundation in my Nana and Grandpy's memory. I did this a few hours before she passed away.
When I promised her this, I actually promised her that I would protect their legacy. This is my higher calling and everything I do is for them.
Why not do it for the past generations of your family who worked tirelessly just so you could exist?
TIDES WILL TURN.
I love this quote because when you think deep about it, it keeps you patient during the bad times and humble during the good.
FREE ADVICE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY.
One thing I have realised in my entrepreneurial journey is that if you give most people free advice, the chances are they don't take it. The quote "If you don't pay, you don't pay attention" is also true in this instance. Those that I have seen go and take action in their respected fields, have done so by paying for education and paying attention.
DON'T TAKE ADVICE FROM ORDINARY PEOPLE WHEN YOU WANT TO BE EXTRAORDINARY.
Ordinary people have good advice, but you need great advice to be extraordinary.Â
Learn from those who have been where you want to go. I want to be a property millionaire, so I'm not going to ask someone who has never been there on how to do it.Â
Let's face it, they're not going to give me the right advice and will probably advise me "money doesn't make you happy".
ALWAYS BETTER, NEVER BITTER.
I think, as a society, our instinct is to negatively react to things that happen to us.Â
If we flip that on its head, however, and start feeling better instead of bitter, it allows us to become more positive with our thoughts which in time brings you a more positive life.
LIMITING LANGUAGE IS THE CANCER TO YOUR CONVERSATIONS.
In the past, I have been the first one to limit myself by language I have chosen to use.Â
Once I became aware of what I was saying, I have been doing my very best to correct it and make the relevant alterations.Â
Because the fact of the matter is, how people perceive you is by how you communicate with people. If you're being negative towards yourself, that only brings negative energy to everybody else which doesn't reflect positively on you.
BE PROACTIVE, NOT REACTIVE.
Being proactive, in both business and life, allows you to be on the ball with things and one step ahead of everybody else. Unfortunately, a lot of people are reactive and therefore fall behind.
Those that are truly winning in life are always being proactive!
IF THE NUMBERS DON'T WORK, NEITHER DO YOU.
This quote is particularly true within the property industry, but can be applied to any asset class.
I really believe in formulas over feelings, and regardless of how much you love a particular property or asset, if the numbers don't stack up, you shouldn't be taking it on.Â
This may sound harsh to some but it's a tried and tested method of de-risking your portfolio.
Don't work on anything if the numbers don't stack up.
THE ONLY LUCK YOU GET IS THE LUCK YOU CREATE.
I think the biggest excuse I have heard from people is "He/she got lucky".
Quite frankly, I find this laughable.
Is luck involved? Perhaps. But these people who are ridiculously successful have put themselves in an excellent position to receive luck.
The way they could do this comes in many forms:Â networking to have the relationships to collaborate, educating themselves so they can implement what they have learned, began working smart as well as hard to build a sustainable financial future.
Ultimately, everything has its own systems and none of us truly see what goes on behind the scenes in people's lives. It's worth thinking about this if you're ever considering using that excuse.
NO PROBLEMS, ONLY SOLUTIONS.
When going through something that is particularly stressful, it can be easy for us to look at the negatives, the turmoil and the problems. This means we're unable to open up our minds to what can solve it.
Looking at it from the other side of the coin, it allows you to make progress significantly faster because you're looking at the positive spectrum, you're figuring out what you need to do in order to succeed and finding the solutions.
You can think positively or negatively in these scenarios, but you have to think what is going to serve you best.
